The new Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 stays true to the AMD platform, which is now powered by the brand new AMD Radeon RX 6800S. Will it be as good as the previous original model?

The previous version of the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, the original, was the example of what a laptop should be. It had the performance of a gaming computer, but in a light and compact body.
With this new generation, Asus remains faithful to the original model, with the display hinge that elevates the equipment or the presence of AniMe Matrix technology, a system composed of thousands of mini-LEDs placed on the aluminum of the screen, to reproduce animations fully customizable.
The battery guarantees a high autonomy and can be charged quickly, not only through the 240W power supply, such as from USB-C up to 100 W. This is enough for 50% charge in just half an hour.

Display and Performance
The 2022 ROG Zephyrus G14 has a keyboard with RGB lighting, a vastly improved touchpad and a 14″ that, thanks to the 16:10 format, reproduces images with QHD resolution (2560 x 1600).
This screen also does not disappoint for its high refresh rate (120 Hz), by the 3 ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium certification. Adding to this the ability to reproduce 100% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum, 500 nit maximum brightness and validation Pantone and Dolby Vision.
The display is the perfect match for the excellent graphics card dedicated, the newly arrived AMD Radeon RX 6800S, with a 32 compute-unit GPU, 2048 Stream processors and 8GB of GDDR6 memory, which corresponds to an ability to 9.22 TFLOP processing, spectacularly impressive for a model that consumes only 105 W.
But that’s not all, we also have a third element in this combination, the Ryzen 9 6900HS, which, with its eight cores and sixteen threads, guarantees an extraordinary performance, even being a model with a TDP of just 35 W.
High Performance Cooling
Despite having a relatively compact, all these components work in a very effective way, which is the result of the application of a cooling system high performance.
This is composed of fans with an optimized design (which are still noisy in Turbo mode), for application of heatpipes, of a chamber of steam for greater heat transfer and the use of liquid metal from Thermal Grizzly, both on the processor and on the GPU.
Not even the battery, of 76 Wh, fails to impress, being helped by the greater energy efficiency of AMD processors, against models Intel equivalents.
